About Us
F Hong Architect Ltd is an architectural practice based in Woking. The practice is led by Feridson Hong, a fully qualified chartered architect registered with the ARB and RIBA.
We work locally across Surrey and Greater London, including Guildford, Croydon, Kingston, and Richmond, as well as further afield throughout the South of England. We work closely with individuals, families, and developers across all RIBA Work Stages, translating complex statutory regulations into a clear, manageable process. To bring your vision to life, our services begin with initial feasibility studies, tailored concept options, and detailed planning drawings designed to smoothly navigate local authority approvals.
Beyond permissions, we prepare complete technical drawing packages and construction information. We guide you carefully through the consultant and contractor selection process, seamlessly integrating design information from structural engineers, building control surveyors, and specialist third-party consultants. During the construction phase, our project management and contract administration services, including professional site inspections and progress meetings, help ensure your build is delivered exactly as intended, on programme, and within budget.
Feridson Hong

Prior to founding the practice, Feridson spent nearly a decade honing his expertise within London architectural practices. He has extensive experience navigating diverse project requirements, including new-build residential and industrial developments, retail extensions, commercial fit-outs, and hotel refurbishments, alongside the detailed coordination of various consultants.
What We Do

Stage 1
Preparation and Briefing
We establish core objectives, assess site constraints, and verify project viability to ensure a robust business case. We then develop a detailed brief that aligns your spatial requirements with your specific budget and programme. This initial phase integrates site analysis, the coordination of essential surveys, and the strategic appointment of consultants to establish a firm foundation for the design process.

Stage 2
Concept Design
The strategic brief is translated into architectural proposals. We explore massing, materiality, and spatial organisation through floor plans, elevations, and 3D modelling. Our focus here is to align your vision with site-specific planning policy and budgetary expectations, potentially engaging in pre-application discussions with the local planning authority.

Stage 3
Developed Design
The design is refined into a fully coordinated package suitable for a formal planning application. We produce the necessary design, access statements, and drawings to navigate the local planning process, liaising with planning officers and specialist consultants to secure consent.

Stage 4
Technical Design
Focus shifts to the technical requirements for construction. We produce detailed drawings, construction schedules, and specifications for submission to Building Control. During this stage, We can act as the Principal Designer under the Building Safety Act 2022 to manage and oversee compliance throughout the design and pre-construction phases.

Stage 5
Construction
With the technical package complete, the project proceeds to site. In this stage, we provide professional oversight as the Contract Administrator under a JCT Building Contract. This involves managing the contract between the client and the contractor, conducting regular site inspections, issuing instructions, and certifying progress payments to ensure the build meets the required quality and contractual standards.
